I have never intended to make this blog logs to a boring one-week report from USA and for the past few weeks I made nothing but that. I was so desperately tried to present everything I experienced here in USA to my friends, family and people who might read this lines. Today while I was having a nap after really long walk I have decided to write a different story…

“Smithsonian” stands for an educational and research institute and associated museum complex, administered and funded by the government of the United States but because of the vision of a few smart and knowledge friendly people like Smithson, John Scott, Shaun Bush, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, dozen of companies and others. Most of its facilities are located in Washington, D.C., but its 19 museums, zoo, and nine research centers include sites in New York City, Virginia, Panama, and elsewhere. This amazing people had a vision and their vision shall remind all of us the knowledge does not have boundaries and it should be available to each and every human living soul now and in future. That is for sure the only way how we can accomplish something with our lifestyle, our technology and with the way how we treating our planet! We simply need all the help we can get! We need that knowledge!

National Mall

I guess when Smithson wrote his will and stated that should his nephew, Henry James Hungerford, who shall die without heirs, the Smithson’s estate would go to the government of the United States for creating an “Establishment for the increase and diffusion of Knowledge among men” had a point! It is crucial to understand this guy Smithson has never visited USA in his lifetime but he knew what they should do with all the knowledge and items he collected. I can only admire to him! On the map above you can see the famous Washington National Mall. On the left side is Lincoln Memorial on the right side is the Capitol so this is the center of DC, here is White House and marked buildings are actually Smithsonian’s museums. I wonder myself what would happen if Smithson decided to leave all that treasure in Europe?
